Background
In 2022, Beach House released the acclaimed double album Once Twice Melody. An announcement was made by the duo on February 16 of the following year that they would be sharing five tracks from the Once Twice Melody sessions as a separate EP, also releasing on a crystal-clear record as a Record Store Day exclusive.{{cite web|url=https://pitchfork.com/news/beach-house-announce-new-become-ep/|title=Beach House Announce New Become EP|date=February 16, 2023|access-date=November 24, 2023|last=Bloom|first=Madison|website=Pitchfork}} The songs were described by the group as "[not fitting] in the world of [Once Twice Melody], but... a little world of their own", possessing a more "scuzzy" and "spacious" sound.
