Beekhuizen is a former sugarcane plantation{{cite web|url=https://www.surinameplantages.com/archief/b/beekhuizen|title=Plantage Beekhuizen|website=Suriname Plantages|access-date=27 May 2020|language=nl}} and currently a resort in Suriname, located in the Paramaribo District. Its population at the 2012 census was 17,185.

The plantation was founded before 1700 by Benjamin Beeke. Around 1850, the Moravian Church became part owner of the plantation, started a school, and released the slaves working on their part of the plantation, because they were against slavery.{{cite web|url=https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzoeken/index/nt00341/86b23911-9f54-4227-871d-6c1e71742e81|title=Suriname en Nederlandse Antillen: Vrijverklaarde slaven (Emancipatie 1863), Voornaam: Thomas Theodor|website=Nationaal Archief.nl|access-date=27 May 2020|language=nl}} In the late 19th century, the Saramacca canal was widened, and 8,200 hectares could be put under cultivation.
