Jacobus Stephanus "Bees" Roux (born 9 December 1981 in Upington) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with {{Rut|Montpellier}}.{{SA Rugby Player Profile | id=25591 | name=Bees Roux | date=29 May 2016}}{{cite web | url=http://www.itsrugby.co.uk/player-2874.html | title=It's Rugby player profile Bees Roux | work=It's Rugby | accessdate=1 April 2016}} His regular position is prop.

Career

He started his playing career at the {{Rut|Leopards}} and represented them in the Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup competitions in 2005 and 2006, making over 40 appearances.

In 2007, he joined Kimberley-based side {{Rut|Griquas}}, where he played his rugby over the next three seasons. During his spell at Griquas, he also played Super Rugby for the {{Rut|Cheetahs}}, making seventeen appearances for them in the 2008 and 2009 seasons. He also spent the off-season at the end of 2008 playing some rugby for French Top 14 side Clermont, appearing in both the Top 14 and Heineken Cup competitions.

He joined the {{Rut|Blue Bulls}} in 2010, making eight appearances for them, as well as fourteen appearances for the {{Rut|Bulls}} in the 2010 Super 14 season.

In August 2010, Roux assaulted police officer Sergeant Ntshimane Johannes Mogale, killing him. He continued his career in France, joining Bordeaux Bègles for the 2011–12 Top 14 season and then playing for Italian side Benetton Treviso in the 2012–13 Pro 12 competition.

However, he failed to feature regularly for the Johannesburg-based side and joined the {{Rut|Free State Cheetahs}} for the 2014 Currie Cup Premier Division.
