Benjamin Platt Thomas (February 22, 1902 – November 29, 1956) was an American historian and biographer of Abraham Lincoln.Paul M. Angle."Benjamin Platt Thomas, 1902-1956" Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society, Spring, 1957 In 1952 he published a best-selling one volume biography on Lincoln entitled Abraham Lincoln: A Biography (Knopf, 1952). Thomas killed himself on November 29, 1956.
