Bernard Lambourde (born 11 May 1971) is a French former professional footballer who played as a defender.
Career
Lambourde was born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe.
He joined Chelsea in 1997, and in his first season at the club he made seven league appearances. That season Chelsea also won the 1997–98 League Cup and the 1997–98 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Lambourde was not part of the squad for either final but contributed three appearances to each of the cup runs.{{Soccerbase season|10534 |1997|name=Bernard Lambourde |accessdate=14 August 2019}} During his spell in England at Chelsea, he is most remembered for scoring the winner in a 1–0 away victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur in February 2000.{{cite web |url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/fa_carling_premiership/631981.stm |title=Spurs haunted by Blues hoodoo |publisher=BBC |date=5 February 2000 |accessdate=5 November 2009}} He also scored twice more for Chelsea, against Middlesbrough in the league{{cite news |url=https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-middlesbrough-fail-to-capitalise-1122632.html |title=Middlesbrough fail to capitalise |work=The Independent |date=25 September 1999 |accessdate=5 November 2009 | location=London| first=Scott | last=Barnes}} and Vålerenga in the Cup Winners' Cup.{{cite news |url=https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-flo-seals-chelseas-progress-1081623.html |title=Flo seals Chelsea's progress |work=The Independent |date=18 March 1999 |accessdate=5 November 2009 | location=London | first=Steve | last=Tongue}} He was on the bench when Chelsea won both the 1998 UEFA Super Cup{{cite news |url=https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-poyets-late-strike-lands-super-cup-for-chelsea-1174844.html |title=Football: Poyet's late strike lands Super Cup for Chelsea |publisher=Independent |date=29 August 1998 |accessdate=14 August 2019}} and the 2000 FA Charity Shield.{{cite news |url=https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/chelsea-capitalise-on-keanes-folly-696371.html |title=Chelsea capitalise on Keane's folly |publisher=Independent |date=14 August 2000 |accessdate=14 August 2019}}
At the start of the 2000–01 season, Lambourde found himself out of favour at Chelsea. After failing to make an appearance that campaign, he joined Portsmouth on loan in September, playing six games. Upon his return to Chelsea he featured in just one game as a late substitute against Manchester United,{{cite web |url=http://www.sportinglife.com/football/premiership/manu/reports/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/01/02/10/SOCCER_Chelsea.html&TEAMHD=manu&DIV=prem&TEAM=MANCHESTER--UNITED&RH=Manchester--United&PREV_SEASON=1999&BID= |title=Chelsea 1 Man Utd 1 |publisher=Sporting Life |date=10 February 2001 |accessdate=11 March 2011}} this proving to be his last appearance for the club.
