Big Brother Panto aired from 20 December 2004 to 5 January 2005 and was presented by Jeff Brazier. It was broadcast each night on E4 at 10pm and repeated the following morning during the T4 slot on Channel 4.{{Cite web| url=http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/big_brother_6_uk-Big_Brother_Panto_Starts-32009.htm| title=Big Brother Update – Big Brother Panto Starts| access-date=2007-08-18|date=21 December 2004|publisher=thisisbigbrother.com| archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20070820000937/http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/big_brother_6_uk-Big_Brother_Panto_Starts-32009.htm| archive-date= 20 August 2007 | url-status= live}} On 28 December, there was a live show on E4 at 11am where comments and suggestions from the public were read to the housemates.{{Cite web| url=http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/B/bigbrotherpanto/news/story.jsp?id=25| title=Email The Cast| access-date=2007-08-18| date=23 December 2004| publisher=Channel 4| archive-date=17 August 2022| archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220817222647/https://www.channel4.com/categories?id=25| url-status=live}} The finale aired at 9pm on E4.{{Cite web|url=http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/B/bigbrotherpanto/news/story.jsp?id=55|title=Tonight's The Night|access-date=2007-08-18|date=5 January 2005|publisher=Channel 4|archive-date=16 March 2005|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20050316140011/http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/B/bigbrotherpanto/news/story.jsp?id=55|url-status=live}}

The housemates went home twice, firstly from 23 to 27 December and secondly from 30 December to 3 January to spend Christmas and New Year at home. Unlike all other Big Brother series, there were no evictions and no winner. The only public vote was for who played Cinderella.

On 27 December, Channel 4 accidentally broadcast the first half of the late-night E4 show, containing adult language and content, pre-watershed on T4. They later apologised.{{Cite web|url=http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/B/bigbrotherpanto/news/story.jsp?id=38|title=An Apology From Channel4|access-date=2007-08-18|date=28 December 2004|publisher=Channel 4|archive-date=26 April 2005|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20050426220114/http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/B/bigbrotherpanto/news/story.jsp?id=38|url-status=live}}
