Big Four is an unincorporated community located in McDowell County, West Virginia, United States. Their post office {{gnis|1689115|Big Four WV post office}} has been closed. Originally known as Cirrus,{{cite book|last=Kenny|first=Hamill|title=West Virginia Place Names: Their Origin and Meaning, Including the Nomenclature of the Streams and Mountains|url=http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015009099824;view=1up;seq=141|year=1945|publisher=The Place Name Press |location=Piedmont, WV|page=113}} Big Four is reported{{By whom|date=January 2024}} to have been renamed for the four men who operated the coal mines in the area. It was once home to the lively and beloved restaurant, "The Chatterbox", which incidentally was the location of the infamous "privy debacle"{{Clarify|date=January 2024|reason=More details needed about incident}}. It also was home to the Starland Drive-In Theater and a roller rink{{cn|date=January 2024}}.
