Development
Big Walk is being developed by Melbourne based independent studio House House, the developers of the 2019 game Untitled Goose Game.{{Cite web |url=https://www.ign.com/articles/big-walk-is-the-next-game-from-the-developers-of-untitled-goose-game |title=Big Walk Is the Next Game From the Developers of Untitled Goose Game |last=Valentine |first=Rebekah |date=8 December 2023 |website=IGN |publisher=Ziff Davis |access-date=9 June 2025 |archive-date=10 June 2025 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250610074348/https://www.ign.com/articles/big-walk-is-the-next-game-from-the-developers-of-untitled-goose-game |url-status=live }} Designer Jake Strasser stated the game's approach was to develop a co-operative game that would "give enough direction for the group to keep a good momentum, but relaxed enough that you're mostly just able to enjoy spending time with your friends".{{Cite web |url=https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/untitled-goose-game-devs-go-on-a-big-walk-in-2025 |title=Untitled Goose Game devs go on a Big Walk in 2025 |last=Castle |first=Katharine |date=8 December 2023 |website=Rock Paper Shotgun |publisher=Rock Paper Shotgun Ltd |access-date=9 June 2025}} The design of the environment was inspired by the Wilsons Promontory National Park in Victoria, Australia. The game's soundtrack was developed in a collaboration with artists Sam Gill and Luke Neher under the name AKSFX. The music was designed to be diegetic to the game world, and conveyed through objects such as speakers.{{Cite web |url=https://www.worthplaying.com/article/2025/6/8/news/146436-big-walk-delayed-until-2026-also-comes-to-console-shows-off-gameplay-screens-trailer/ |title=Big Walk Delayed Until 2026, Also Comes To Console, Shows Off Gameplay - Screens & Trailer |last=Rainier |first= |date=8 June 2025 |website=WorthPlaying |publisher=WorthPlaying |access-date=9 June 2025}}
