Birbalomys is an extinct genus of rodent from Asia.

The {{convert|30|cm|abbr=on}}-long creature has been thought to have been a member of the extant gundi family, but reconstructions of its physical appearance are speculative. Birbalomys bear resemblance with the Ctenodactyloidea, Chapattimyidae, and Yuomyidae families.{{cite book |editor=Palmer, D.|year=1999 |title= The Marshall Illustrated Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Animals|publisher= Marshall Editions|location=London|page= 285|isbn= 978-1-84028-152-1}} Early findings suggest that Birbalomys were found in the Subathu Formation in the Kunhar River in the Eocene epoch.{{Cite journal |last1=Rose |first1=Kenneth D. |last2=Holbrook |first2=Luke T. |last3=Rana |first3=Rajendra S. |last4=Kumar |first4=Kishor |last5=Jones |first5=Katrina E. |last6=Ahrens |first6=Heather E. |last7=Missiaen |first7=Pieter |last8=Sahni |first8=Ashok |last9=Smith |first9=Thierry |date=December 2014 |title=Early Eocene fossils suggest that the mammalian order Perissodactyla originated in India |journal=Nature Communications |language=en |volume=5 |issue=1 |pages=5570 |doi=10.1038/ncomms6570 |pmid=25410701 |issn=2041-1723|doi-access=free |bibcode=2014NatCo...5.5570R |hdl=1854/LU-5972511 |hdl-access=free }}
