Reception

The Sydney Morning Herald's Karl Quinn wrote "Black Snow is a Trojan horse of a show. It’s an effective crime drama that does pretty much all you could ask of it. But lurking inside there’s a whole legion of more challenging ideas." Luke Buckmaster of The Guardian gave it three stars, saying it is "a mostly well-made murder mystery that starts strong but runs out of gas as it approaches its twist-filled ending".{{cite news | last = Buckmaster | first = Luke | date = 1 January 2023 | title = Black Snow review – Australian murder mystery has a corker of a premise | work= The Guardian | url = https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2023/jan/01/black-snow-review-australian-mystery-has-a-corker-of-a-premise }}
