Blaise Pascal University ({{langx|fr|Université Blaise-Pascal}}), also known as Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand II, was a public university with its main campus in Clermont-Ferrand, France, with satellite locations in other parts of the region of Auvergne, including Vichy, Moulins, Montluçon, and Aubière.{{cite web|url=http://www.univ-bpclermont.fr/article98.html|title=Plan d'accès - Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand|publisher=|access-date=3 November 2016|archive-date=19 October 2016|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20161019183125/http://www.univ-bpclermont.fr/article98.html|url-status=dead}} On 1 January 2017, the university merged with the University of Auvergne to form the Clermont Auvergne University.

History

It was founded in 1854, as part of Clermont-Ferrand University.

The Blaise Pascal University was created by the division of the University of Clermont-Ferrand in two entities following a 1976 decree.{{cite web|title=76-242 decree|url=https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/id/JORFTEXT000000502261|website=legifrance.gouv.fr}}

In 1987 it was named for mathematician, scientist, and philosopher Blaise Pascal, who was born in Clermont.

Mathias Bernard was elected in 2012 as president of the university.{{cite journal|last1=Seguy|first1=Roland|title=Mathias Bernard, de doyen à président|journal=La Montagne|date=2012-03-23}} (in French){{Cite web|url=http://www.univ-bpclermont.fr/article1680.html|title=Mathias Bernard élu Président de l'Université|publisher=Université Blaise Pascal|access-date=2014-09-24|archive-date=2017-08-08|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170808102356/http://www.univ-bpclermont.fr/article1680.html|url-status=dead}}, 22 March 2012 (in French)

As of 2017, Clermont-Ferrand became a part of the University Clermont Auvergne.{{cite web|last1=Stromboni|first1=Camille|title=Les universités clermontoises optent pour la fusion|url=http://www.letudiant.fr/educpros/actualite/les-universites-clermontoises-optent-pour-la-fusion.html|website=EducPros.fr}}, 19 September 2013
