Blue Meridian: The Search for the Great White Shark is a 1971 non-fiction nature book by the American author Peter Matthiessen. He writes of a 17-month expedition he undertook with Peter Gimbel to photograph great whites underwater. The book recounts, then, the production of the documentary Blue Water, White Death.https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/books/97/11/23/home/matthiessen-meridian.html NYT{{Cite web |date=2014-04-06 |title=Peter Matthiessen obituary |url=http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/apr/06/peter-matthiessen |access-date=2022-11-15 |website=the Guardian |language=en}}
