Bluff, also known as Agookauchuk (Inupiaq: Iġukuchiq or Iġukusiq; Yup'ik: Iruk'uciq), was a 20th-century mining town in Nome Census Area, Alaska.
It was built at the mouth of Daniels Creek on the north shore of Norton Sound on the Seward Peninsula in the summer of 1900, as a result of the Nome Gold Rush.{{Cite web|url=https://www.usgs.gov/us-board-on-geographic-names/domestic-names?p=138%3A3%3A0%3A%3ANO%3A3%3AP3_FID%2CP3_TITLE%3A1399220%2CBluff|title=Domestic Names | U.S. Geological Survey|website=Usgs.gov|access-date=January 31, 2022}}{{Cite web|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=Rr9RAQAAMAAJ&dq=bluff%3A+locality&pg=PA49|title=Geological Survey Professional Paper|page=49|date=January 31, 1949|publisher=U.S. Government Printing Office|access-date=January 31, 2022|via=Google Books}} The town was located {{convert|55|mi|km}} southeast of Nome.{{cite web|title=Bluff, Alaska|url=http://alaskagoldrush.info/Towns/Bluff.htm|website=Alaskagoldrush.info|access-date=January 17, 2015}} The settlement was served by a post office for eighteen years, from 1901 to 1919.{{cite gnis | id = 1399220| name = Bluff| access-date = January 17, 2015 }}
