Major General Robert Bernard Bruce, {{postnominals|country=GBR|size=100|sep=,|CBE|DSO}} is a former British Army officer. Since September 2024, he has served as Governor of Edinburgh Castle.
Military career
Bruce was commissioned into the Royal Scots on 5 September 1986.{{London Gazette|issue=50702|supp=y|page=14183|date=3 November 1986}} He became commanding officer of the Royal Scots in February 2006 and then of The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, as the Royal Scots and King's Own Scottish Borderers merged that year.{{cite web|url=http://www.electricscotland.com/history/scotreg/400years.htm|title=The final days of the old Scottish Regiments|date=26 May 2006|publisher=Electric Scotland|accessdate=21 April 2017}} He went on to be commander 4th Mechanised Brigade in 2011 and was deployed as commander of Task Force Helmand in October 2012.{{cite web|url=https://www.gov.uk/government/news/change-in-helmand-province|title=Change in Helmand province|publisher=Ministry of Defence|date=17 April 2013|accessdate=21 April 2017}}
