Bogusze {{IPAc-pl|b|o|'|g|u|sz|e}} is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Prostki, within Ełk County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland.{{cite web |url=http://www.stat.gov.pl/broker/access/prefile/listPreFiles.jspa |title=Central Statistical Office (GUS) - TERYT (National Register of Territorial Land Apportionment Journal) |date=2008-06-01 |language=pl}} It situated on the Ełk River, approximately {{convert|3|km|mi|0}} south-east of Prostki, {{convert|17|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south of Ełk, and {{convert|130|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
History

During the German occupation of Poland during World War II there was a German-operated prisoner-of-war camp in Bogusze. Polish civilians were also imprisoned in the camp. Many Russian and Italian soldiers as well as Polish civilians died of hunger or cold or were murdered in the camp. Many Italians were eventually relocated to other places, including forced labour camps and POW camps in Saxony, Łabędy, Schleswig, Hamburg, Luckenwalde, Zambrów.{{cite magazine|last=Marcinkiewicz|first=Stefan Michał|year=2024|title=Stalag I B Kommando Prostken (I B/PR).
