According to historian {{ill|Stanisław Karwowski|pl|Stanisław Karwowski (1848–1917)}}, Madaliński was born to Piotr of Niedzielska, a nobleman who claimed the Larissa coat of arms.{{Cite book |last=Karwowski |first=Stanisław |title=Gniezno |publisher=Drukarnia Dziennika Poznańskiego |year=1892 |location=Poznań |pages=363 |language=pl |oclc=721687777 |via=Google Books}} According to historian Antoni Julian Nowowiejski, Madaliński, once ordained, initiated his early career with Krzysztof Opaliński, Karol Ferdynand Vasa, and eventually John Casimir.{{Cite book |last=Nowowiejski |first=Antoni Julian |author-link=Antoni Julian Nowowiejski |title=Plock: monografja historyczna |publisher=Rosiński |year=1917 |pages=56 |language=pl |oclc=652295014 |via=Google Books}} In 1672, he was coadjutor of Płock, then Bishop of Płock in 1675, and finally Bishop of Kujawy in 1680. Madaliński died in 1691 and was buried at the cathedral in Włocławek. According to Karwowski, the cathedral benefited from Madaliński's charity.
