History

In 2021, the BornHack electronic badge was based on a perfboard due to the chip shortage.

The 2021 camp was also captured in Google Maps' aerial pictures.{{Cite web |last=By |date=2021-02-15 |title=The First Hacker Camp To Show Up On Google Maps |url=https://hackaday.com/2021/02/14/the-first-hacker-camp-to-show-up-on-google-maps/ |access-date=2022-07-12 |website=Hackaday |language=en-US}}

In 2022, Thomas Flummer developed a badge based on the RP2040, for which software can be developed in CircuitPython.{{Cite web |last=List |first=Jenny |date=2022-07-08 |title=Badges Of 2022: BornHack |url=https://hackaday.com/2022/07/08/badges-of-2022-bornhack/ |access-date=2022-07-12 |website=Hackaday |language=en-US}}

During BornHack there is a field specifically designed for loud noise, with a noise barrier made from soil. A Dutch hacker brought an old civil defense siren for testing purposes. Within a few minutes, four separate phone calls were made to the Danish police from houses located a large distance from BornHack.{{Cite book |last=Janssen |first=Gerard |url=https://www.worldcat.org/oclc/1322990652 |title=Hackers: over de vrijheidsstrijders van het internet |date=2022 |publisher={{Interlanguage link|Thomas Rap|nl|3=Uitgeverij Thomas Rap}} |isbn=978-94-004-0838-8 |location=Amsterdam |oclc=1322990652}}
