Brachytome is a genus of 8 species of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. It was described by Joseph Dalton Hooker in 1871.[https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/16044908#page/72/mode/1up Joseph Dalton Hooker. 1871. Hooker's Icones Plantarum 11: 70, pl. 1088, Brachytome wallichii.] It occurs in mainland Southeast Asia from Bangladesh, east to south central China and south to Peninsular Malaysia.
