Speedway career
Oxley became a North American champion after winning the AMA National Speedway Championship in 1987.{{cite web|url=https://www.speedwaybikes.com/history/champion.htm|title=United States and Canada Speedway National Champions|website=Speedway Bikes. com|access-date=29 July 2021}} Twelve years later he became the United States champion after winning the United States Individual Speedway Championship in 1999.
