Reception
Joseph S. McMaster reviewed the game for Computer Gaming World, and stated that "In spite of occasional problems with the documentation, Breach must be considered a top-notch game."{{cite magazine |last=McMaster |first=Joseph S. |title=Once More Into The "Breach": Omnitrend's Sci-Fi Game Explored |magazine=Computer Gaming World |date=March 1988 |volume=1 |issue=45 |pages=32–34}}
Harvey Bernstein for Antic approved of the powerful level editor but said that graphics were "nothing special". He concluded that "Hardcore wargamers will probably find Breach's variations on old themes intriguing, but for the rest of us this ST game just isn't much fun".{{Cite magazine |last=Bernstein |first=Harvey |date=March 1988 |title=Breach |url=https://archive.org/details/1988-03-anticmagazine/page/48/mode/2up?view=theater |access-date=2024-08-17 |magazine=Antic |page=49}}
Keith Ferrell for Compute! stated "This game captures perfectly the feel of those hard-combat, high-tech science-fiction war stories."{{Cite web|url=http://archive.org/details/1988-JUn-compute-magazine|title=Compute! Magazine Issue 097|date=June 9, 1988|via=Internet Archive}}
