History
A small group of Michigan investors formed Brew Detroit in September 2012.{{cite web |title = Michigan Business Entity Search result |url = http://www.dleg.state.mi.us/bcs_corp/dt_llc.asp?id_nbr=D8322D&name_entity=BREW%20DETROIT,%20LLC |access-date = June 15, 2017 }} Their goal was to create a contract brewing company that provides larger capacity production services to a multitude of emerging Michigan beer brands. As part of its commitment to investing in Detroit, the venture donated 2% of its equity ownership to the New Common School Foundation which raises scholarship funds for the city's Cornerstone Schools.
Brew Detroit launched brewing and packaging operations at its Corktown facility in early 2014.
