Bukobaja is an extinct genus of mastodonsaurid temnospondyl from the middle Triassic of Russia. It contains a single species, Bukobaja enigmatica. Bukobaja mainly occurs in the Bukobay Svita as part of the Ladinian?-age "Mastodonsaurus fauna", a section of Russian Triassic biostratigraphy characterized by "Mastodonsaurus" torvus. It was also present in the underlying Donguz Svita ("Eryosuchus fauna").{{cite book|last1=Shishkin|first1=M.A.|title=The Age of Dinosaurs in Russia and Mongolia|last2=Ochev|first2=V.G.|last3=Lozovskii|first3=V.R.|last4=Novikov|first4=I.V.|publisher=Cambridge University Press|year=2000|isbn=9780521545822|editor=Benton, M.J.|location=Cambridge|pages=140–159|chapter=Tetrapod biostratigraphy of the Triassic of Eastern Europe|editor2=Shishkin, M.A.|editor3=Unwin, D.M.|editor4=Kurochkin, E.N.}}{{Cite journal|last1=Tverdokhlebov|first1=Valentin P.|last2=Tverdokhlebova|first2=Galina I.|last3=Surkov|first3=Mikhail V.|last4=Benton|first4=Michael J.|date=2003-01-01|title=Tetrapod localities from the Triassic of the SE of European Russia|url=http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0012825202000764|journal=Earth-Science Reviews|language=en|volume=60|issue=1|pages=1–66|doi=10.1016/S0012-8252(02)00076-4|bibcode=2003ESRv...60....1T |issn=0012-8252}} Bukobaja appears to be a valid genus similar to, yet distinct from, Mastodonsaurus.
