(LREM), his constituency covers part of the 13th arrondissement. Tan lost his reelection bid in the 2022 French legislative election.
Family and youth
Tan arrived in France as a refugee from Cambodia in 1975, as his Chinese Cambodian family fled the Khmer Rouge. They settled in Tours, before he moved to Paris for his studies. He then joined his two sisters in working for their father's business.
Political career
In Parliament, Tan serves as member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.[http://www2.assemblee-nationale.fr/deputes/fiche/OMC_PA721690 Buon Tan] French National Assembly. In addition to his committee assignments, he is the president of the French-Chinese Parliamentary Friendship Group.
