Robert Stanley "Butch" May, Jr. (born November 7, 1941) is an American former volleyball player who competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics,{{cite sports-reference |url=https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/ma/butch-may-1.html |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200418095509/https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/ma/butch-may-1.html |url-status=dead |archive-date=April 18, 2020 |accessdate=May 30, 2012}} as well as being father to multiple Olympic gold medal American beach volleyball player, Misty May-Treanor. Butch grew up in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi and attended St. Louis School, a private school for boys.
