Butschliellaceae is a possible family of cryptomonads proposed by Pierre Bourrelly in 1970, to include both the previously described Butschliella and his newly discovered genus Skvortzoviella.{{cite book|vauthors=Bourrelly P |year=1970 |title=Les Algues d'eau douce. Initiation à la systématique|volume=III|chapter=Eugléniens, Péridiniens, Algues rouges et Algues bleues}} Neither Butschiellaceae, nor its constituent genera, have been included in recent Cryptophyte phylogenies.
