The C&C 41 is a Canadian sailboat, that was designed by Robert W. Ball at the request of Jim Plaxton, who had purchased C&C Yachts in 1981. Plaxton wanted an International Offshore Rule racer and the resulting design went into production in 1981.{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-41|title = C&C 41 sailboat specifications and details|accessdate = 6 September 2018|last= Browning| first = Randy |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2018|archive-url= https://archive.today/20220330115618/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-41|archive-date= 30 March 2022|url-status= live}}{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/designer/ball-robert|title = Robert Ball|accessdate = 30 March 2022|last= McArthur| first = Bruce |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2022|archive-url=https://archive.today/20201015222518/https://sailboatdata.com/designer/ball-robert|archive-date= 15 October 2020|url-status= live}}{{cite web|url =https://sailboatdata.com/builder/cc-yachts|title =C&C Yachts |accessdate = 30 March 2022|last= McArthur| first = Bruce |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2022|archive-url= https://archive.today/20201015222748/https://sailboatdata.com/builder/cc-yachts|archive-date= 15 October 2020|url-status= live}}

Design

The C&C 41 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fibreglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem, a raised reverse transom, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed fin keel or optionally keel and centreboard. The fixed keel version displaces {{convert|17500|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|8000|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of lead ballast.

The keel-equipped version of the boat has a draft of {{convert|7.80|ft|m|abbr=on}}, while the centreboard-equipped version has a draft of {{convert|8.00|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the centreboard extended and {{convert|4.92|ft|m|abbr=on}} with it retracted.

The boat was also produced in "GP" and "Limited Edition" models, both introduced in 1981 as well. The GP has a {{convert|1.00|ft|m|abbr=on}} shorter mast and a displacement of {{convert|16800|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}}. Length overall is the same for all models, but the waterline length varies. The C&C 41 has a waterline length of {{convert|33.33|ft|m|abbr=on}}, while the GP is {{convert|33.50|ft|m|abbr=on}} and the Limited Edition is {{convert|33.48|ft|m|abbr=on}}.{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-41-gp|title = C&C 41 GP sailboat specifications and details|accessdate = 6 September 2018|last= Browning| first = Randy |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2018|archive-url= https://archive.today/20220330115622/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-41-gp|archive-date= 30 March 2022|url-status= live}}{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-41-limited-ed|title = C&C 41 Limited Ed sailboat specifications and details|accessdate = 6 September 2018|last= Browning| first = Randy |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2018|archive-url= https://archive.today/20220330115627/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cc-41-limited-ed|archive-date= 30 March 2022|url-status= live}}

The boat is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar 3HM35F diesel engine. The fuel tank holds {{convert|20|u.s.gal}} and the fresh water tank has a capacity of {{convert|60|u.s.gal}}.

The fixed fin keel base design has a PHRF racing average handicap of 108 with a high of 111 and low of 105. It has a hull speed of {{convert|7.74|kn|km/h|2|abbr=on}}. The centreboard version has a PHRF racing average handicap of 81 with a high of 90 and low of 78, along with a hull speed of {{convert|7.76|kn|km/h|2|abbr=on}}. The GP version has a PHRF racing average handicap of 66 with a high of 66 and low of 66, with a hull speed of {{convert|7.76|kn|km/h|2|abbr=on}}. The limited edition has a PHRF racing average handicap of 72 with a high of 75 and low of 69, with a hull speed of {{convert|7.75|kn|km/h|2|abbr=on}}.{{cite web|url = http://www.sailingjoy.com/sailboat_specs/sailboat_specs/view/2435/c-c-41|title = Sailboat Specifications for C&C 41|accessdate = 6 September 2018|work = Sailing Joy|author = InterVisionSoft LLC|year = 2018}}{{Dead link|date=July 2020 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}{{cite web|url = http://www.sailingjoy.com/sailboat_specs/sailboat_specs/view/2436/c-c-41-cb|title = Sailboat Specifications for C&C 41 CB|accessdate = 6 September 2018|work = Sailing Joy|author = InterVisionSoft LLC|year = 2018}}{{Dead link|date=July 2020 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}{{cite web|url = http://www.sailingjoy.com/sailboat_specs/sailboat_specs/view/2398/c-c-41-gp|title = Sailboat Specifications for C&C 41 GP|accessdate = 6 September 2018|work = Sailing Joy|author = InterVisionSoft LLC|year = 2018}}{{Dead link|date=July 2020 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}{{cite web|url = http://www.sailingjoy.com/sailboat_specs/sailboat_specs/view/2437/c-c-41-limited-ed|title = Sailboat Specifications for C&C 41 Limited Ed|accessdate = 6 September 2018|work = Sailing Joy|author = InterVisionSoft LLC|year = 2018}}{{Dead link|date=July 2020 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}
