Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CAMK1 gene.{{cite journal | vauthors = Haribabu B, Hook SS, Selbert MA, Goldstein EG, Tomhave ED, Edelman AM, Snyderman R, Means AR | title = Human calcium-calmodulin dependent protein kinase I: cDNA cloning, domain structure and activation by phosphorylation at threonine-177 by calcium-calmodulin dependent protein kinase I kinase | journal = EMBO J | volume = 14 | issue = 15 | pages = 3679–86 |date=Sep 1995 | pmid = 7641687 | pmc = 394442 | doi = 10.1002/j.1460-2075.1995.tb00037.x}}

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase I is expressed in many tissues and is a component of a calmodulin-dependent protein kinase cascade. Calcium/calmodulin directly activates calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase I by binding to the enzyme and indirectly promotes the phosphorylation and synergistic activation of the enzyme by calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase I kinase.{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: CAMK1 calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase I| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=8536}}
