History
CJGX signed on August 19, 1927 after the Winnipeg Grain Exchange created a radio station to provide farmers in Saskatchewan and Manitoba with the latest grain and livestock prices.
At first, the station exclusively broadcast grain and livestock pricing before gradually adding other programming.{{Cite web |title=Our Heritage |url=https://www.gx94radio.com/our-heritage/#:~:text=It%20all%20started%20in%201927,and%20District%20Board%20of%20Trade. |access-date=2024-11-28 |website=GX94 Radio |language=en-US}} The primary motivator behind the switch was a change in ownership and the establishment of government-controlled grain marketing in 1934.{{Cite web |date=1977 |title=GX Radio 94: "Fifty Years to Remember" |url=https://www.worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Station-Promos/CJGX-Yorktion-1977-50th-Anniversary.pdf |website=worldradiohistory.com}}
