The CSA T20 Challenge is a domestic Twenty20 Cricket competition in South Africa, first contested in the 2003–04 season. It was previously known as the Standard Bank Pro20 Series until the 2010–11 season, the MiWay T20 Challenge for the 2011–12 season and most recently as the RamSlam T20 Challenge. The current champions are the Imperial Lions, whilst the Titans have been the most successful with 6 title wins.
The tournament has been contested since its inception by the six franchise teams but for the 2007–08 season, Zimbabwe took part as a seventh side.[http://www.cricketworld.com/zimbabwe/article/?aid=13920 Zimbabwe's Place In SA Franchise Cricket Confirmed] {{Webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20071201015055/http://www.cricketworld.com/zimbabwe/article/?aid=13920 |date=1 December 2007 }}, Cricket World, Retrieved on 21 November 2007 In April 2019, Cricket South Africa announced that the 2018–19 tournament would be the final edition of the T20 Challenge, due to austerity measures and a restructure of domestic cricket in the country.{{cite web|url=http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/26485714/south-african-board-players-body-collision-course-domestic-revamp-plans |title=South African board and players' body on collision course over domestic revamp plans |work=ESPN Cricinfo |access-date=10 April 2019}}{{cite web|url=https://www.timeslive.co.za/sport/cricket/2019-04-09-cricket-sa-are-ignoring-our-concerns-say-players/ |title=Cricket SA are ignoring our concerns' say players |work=Times Live |access-date=10 April 2019}}{{cite web|url=https://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/Proteas/csa-confirms-plans-to-restructure-domestic-cricket-20190408 |title=CSA confirms drastic plans to restructure domestic cricket |work=Sport24 |access-date=10 April 2019}} The competition was effectively replaced as a top cricket league with a franchise-based T20 tournament, the Mzansi Super League, which had its first edition in 2018.
The tournament was however played during February 2021, with all the matches taking place at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban. It replaced the 2020 edition of the Mzansi Super League, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.{{Cite web|title=Covid-19 effect: South Africa forced to postpone 2020 Mzansi Super League|url=https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/msl-2020-no-mzansi-super-league-this-year-because-of-covid-19-pandemic-1233728|access-date=2021-04-24|website=ESPNcricinfo|language=en}}{{cite web|url=https://cricket.co.za/2023/09/14/excitement-builds-as-the-2023-24-domestic-cricket-season-kicks-off-this-weekend/|title=EXCITEMENT BUILDS AS THE 2023 – 24 DOMESTIC CRICKET SEASON KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND|work=cricket.co.za|access-date = 2 October 2023|author=SAGAR Singh Chauhan }}{{cite web|url=https://www.sacricketmag.com/final-added-to-csa-4-day-series/|title=CSA T20 Challenge SET TO LIGHT UP SUMMER WITH SEASON 20 KICK-OFF ON 8 March|work=sacricket magazine|access-date = 2 October 2023|author=SAGAR Singh Chauhan |date=26 August 2023 }}
