CUBIT
{{Short description|Multi-touch computer user interface system}}
Cubit, often stylized CUBIT, is a computer user interface system for multi-touch devices, designed by Stefan Hechenberger and Addie Wagenknecht for Nortd Labs. It was developed to "demystify multitouch" technology by using an open-source model for software and hardware. It is a direct competitor of Microsoft Surface.{{cite news |last=Greene |first=Kate |date=2008-05-01 |title=Open-Source, Multitouch Display |url=https://www.technologyreview.com/s/410065/open-source-multitouch-display/ |magazine=MIT Technology Review |location=Cambridge, Massachusetts |access-date=7 February 2017}}{{cite news |url=http://www.economist.com/science/displaystory.cfm?story_id=11288385 |work=The Economist |title=Home invention |date=2008-05-01}}{{cite book|last=Saffer|first=Dan|title=Designing Gestural Interfaces|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=iTsZ5cg7gegC&pg=PA128|access-date=27 February 2013|date=2008-11-20|publisher=O'Reilly Media, Inc.|isbn=9780596554224|pages=128–}}
