Caleb Young

Young was born in Asheville, North Carolina.{{Cite web|url=https://www.fortwayne.com/things-to-do/conducting-a-path/|title=Conducting a path | FortWayne.com}} From an early age he was interested in music and at the age of three, he was introduced to piano by his parents.{{Cite web|url=https://www.journalgazette.net/local/phil-to-welcome-new-assistant-director/article_780182b8-2c3e-50aa-833d-f2cd3bb7ec98.html|title=Phil to welcome new assistant director|first=Keiara Carr | The Journal|last=Gazette|website=Fort Wayne Journal Gazette|date=8 June 2016 }} During his time at high school, he played wind instruments. He studied euphonium at the University of Alabama and then later attended and graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a master's degree in orchestral conducting in 2013. During his time at Indiana, he studied with conducting pedagogues, David Effron and Arthur Fagen.

His career started in 2013 in Bloomington, when he created an orchestra named KammerMahler.{{Cite web|url=https://www.toledosymphony.com/events/2017/10/21/keybank-pops/an-evening-with-leslie-odom-jr./|title=An Evening with Leslie Odom, Jr.|website=Toledo Symphony Orchestra}} The orchestra specializes in performing symphonic works in a chamber orchestra setting.

In 2021, Young was invited by Finnish conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste to join the inaugural roster of Lead!
