The most recent player to achieve this was Ray Wersching, coincidentally also playing for the Chargers, then based in San Diego. Wersching was invited by team owner Dean Spanos to make a surprise appearance at a subsequent team practice; he remarked that he was "impressed" by Dicker's achievement, which set a new record.{{cite news |last1=Nguyen |first1=Thuc Nhi |title=After Cameron Dicker's historic boot, Chargers get to meet 'Quad Father' of free kick |url=https://www.latimes.com/sports/chargers/story/2024-12-23/cameron-dickers-historic-free-kick-ray-wersching-1976 |work=Los Angeles Times |date=24 December 2024}} In Week 17, Dicker was four-for-four on field goals and four-for-four on extra points in a 40-7 win over the New England Patriots, earning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.{{cite web|title=Bengals QB Joe Burrow, Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield highlight Players of the Week|url=https://www.nfl.com/news/players-of-the-week-2024-week-17-joe-burrow-baker-mayfield|website=NFL.com|date=December 31, 2024}} The following week he was four-for-five on field goals and made two extra points in a 34-20 win over the Raiders, earning player of the week honors again.{{cite web|title=Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Broncos QB Bo Nix highlight Players of the Week|url=https://www.nfl.com/news/players-of-the-week-2024-week-18-jahmyr-gibbs-bo-nix|author=Gordon, Grant|website=NFL.com|date=January 8, 2025}}
