Cape Manorsky

Cape Manorsky (Russian: Mys Manorsky) is a cape in the western Sea of Okhotsk. It lies {{convert|10|mi|km|spell=in}} southwest of Cape Nosorog. History

American whaleships targeting bowhead whales used the bight to the west of Cape Manorsky in the 1850s and 1860s.Montezuma, of New London, October 7, 1859, Nicholson Whaling Collection (NWC).Java, of New Bedford, June 16, 1866, June 29, 1867, Kendall Whaling Museum (KWM). They called it FlorenceGovernor Troup, of New Bedford, August 8, 1863, KWM or Schooner Harbor.Montezuma, of New London, September 13, 1859, NWC. Both names are in reference to the barque Florence, of Honolulu, which frequented the area in the 1850s and 1860s and utilized schooners as tenders.
