In Roman and Greek mythology, Capys ({{IPAc-en|ˈ|k|eɪ|p|ᵻ|s}}; Ancient Greek: Κάπυς) was a name attributed to three individuals:

  • Capys, mythological king of Alba Longa and descendant of Aeneas. Said to have reigned from 963 to 935 BC.Dionysius of Halicarnassus, Antiquitates Romanae 1.71.

According to Roman sources,Isaac Taylor Etruscan Researches (Macmillan and Co. 1874) p. 317 referencing Servius in the Etruscan language the word capys meant "hawk" or "falcon" (or possibly "eagle" or "vulture").{{s-start | noclear = true }}
