In 2011 there were over 60 entrants and the over 18 finalists competed at The Globe, Cardiff.{{cite web | title=Big Gig aims to give unsigned band a break to The Big Weekend | website=Wales Online | date=11 July 2011 | url=https://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/showbiz/big-gig-aims-give-unsigned-1820824 | access-date=27 December 2023}}{{cite web | title=Ffred Jones gears himself up for his Big Weekend | website=Wales Online | date=4 August 2011 | url=https://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/showbiz/ffred-jones-gears-himself-up-1814435 | access-date=27 December 2023}}
