Castro

Castro is a Romance language word that originally derived from Latin castrum, a pre-Roman military camp or fortification (cf: Greek: kastron; Proto-Celtic:*Kassrik; {{langx|br|kaer, *kastro|link=no}}). The English-language equivalent is chester.
