By interest

Is there a way to set a user preference such that e.g. only articles related to things an editor is interested in will show up? I find myself sifting through the however many thousand of these and not seeing very much that gives me inspiration and motivation to continue, but I feel like if there were a place/way where I could choose categories of preference, and narrow the search to those, then I (and theoretically other contributors) might be more apt to help. Just an idea. Bush6984 (talk) 22:31, 26 November 2014 (UTC)

:{{ping|User:Bush6984}} Try experimenting with [http://tools.wmflabs.org/catscan2/catscan2.php CatScan]. A couple of simple things you can do with it: 1) Type in the name of two categories, eg. "All articles with too few wikilinks" and "Cryptography", to get a list of articles that are present in both. 2) Type "All articles with too few wikilinks" into the category box, then use the template field to search for articles which contain, eg. the "WikiProject India" template (and tick "use talk pages instead"). Hope this helps. DoctorKubla (talk) 09:21, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

::{{ping|User:DoctorKubla}} I ran into this same issue again just now on the Community Portal thus posted in its Talk page, Wikipedia talk:Community portal, having not remembered that I apparently wrote the above request/concern back in 2014. While I'm not sure if it's the correct way to create the request, I opened a task in the Phabricator, phabricator:T151986, requesting this feature to be created. Just figured I'd provide an "update" (although 2 years later). PolymathGirl (talk) 07:27, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

Removing Articles

Is there a threshold for removing articles from this category? Are articles automatically removed or should I remove an article after adding a certain number of wikilinks? Knope7 (talk) 19:22, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

:Removing the {{tl|underlinked}} template will automatically remove the article from this category. DoctorKubla (talk) 10:19, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Tool

Is there a tool or AWB setting for quickly resolving articles in this category? Or is it all hand-wikified? czar 05:23, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

: Unwatching this page. Please ping me if you have a response. File:Eye close font awesome.svg czar 16:23, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

This page seems to have an error

My user talk page claims to be on this list yet it does not actually appear. Is this intentional, or has this page gone wrong? TomBarker23 (talk) 14:03, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

:{{re|TomBarker23}} The reason was that your page included the category link without the extra : prefix (to make it only a link instead of adding the page to the category). I see that another editor removed the category link from the comment. If you'd like to only link to the category, :Category:All articles with too few wikilinks should be used instead of Category:All articles with too few wikilinks (notice the : prefix). I hope this helps, —PaleoNeonate – 18:23, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

i just want to edit in order to get my task completed

: {{re|Jagjeet kaur sandhu}} what is this "task" that you want to complete? Did someone ask you to edit Wikipedia? Or were you paid? Why is there such a large number of new editors who are trying to edit this administrative category? This page should not be directly edited by new users. It is used to track Wikipedia articles that have too few links. It is not the place for people to post new articles. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 06:48, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

:File:Red question icon with gradient background.svg Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. L293D ( • ) 11:25, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

AWB should help AWB operators fix the issues, not just tag it

Many newly tagged articles are showing up in the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Community_portal/Opentask task list]. I've spent some time improving a couple articles from the list, and removing the tag, but the process is simple and tedious to do manually. The fix process should be included into the AWB process so the AWB operators can fix the problems themselves, more efficiently. -- Yae4 (talk) 15:36, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

: I would like the AWB operators to be more careful about adding the underlinked tag to stubs. If an article is one sentence long and already has two Wikilinks, it really doesn't need any more. This list periodically becomes swollen with these mis-tagged articles. Rogermx (talk) 20:16, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

The Backlog

Can we just appreciate how long the backlog is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by !matt2446 (talkcontribs) 18:02, 23 November 2019 (UTC)

A quick question.

Does anyone know what to do about all the one sentence articles that need more wiki links? I ask this because there is no relevant information to link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by !matt5454!matt (talkcontribs) 00:09, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

  • Some editors are using bots that make it easy to indiscriminately add these tags to articles. The only recourse is to complain on the talk page for that editor. Rogermx (talk) 15:20, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
