Marmaduke Cecil Allenby (30 August 1873 — 16 April 1932) was an English first-class cricketer and an officer in the Royal Navy.

The son of Robert Allenby, he was born in August 1873 at Elvington Hall in the Yorkshire village of Elvington. While serving as a lieutenant, he was on 15 September 1902 posted to the protected cruiser {{HMS|Argonaut|1898|6}}, serving on the China Station.{{Cite news|work=The Times|location=London|title=Naval & Military intelligence|date=11 September 1902|page=8|issue=36870}} Allenby retired from the navy at his own request in June 1912,{{London Gazette|issue=28622|date=28 June 1912|page=4674}} and the following year he was allowed to assume the rank of commander on the retired list.{{London Gazette|issue=28752|date=2 September 1913|page=6233}} He returned to active service during the First World War, where he was appointed a superintendent with the Chart and Chronometer Depot at Sheerness Dockyard.{{cite news|url=https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0004358/19320430/156/0010|title=Captain M.
