Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls is a spin-off series of The Island with Bear Grylls. It was first broadcast on Channel 4 as part of a charity campaign for Stand Up to Cancer UK in September 2016.{{cite web |url=http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-05-03/dom-joly-zoe-salmon-and-ollie-locke-sign-up-for-celebrity-the-island-with-bear-grylls |title=Dom Joly, Zoe Salmon and Ollie Locke sign up for celebrity The Island with Bear Grylls |author=Emma Daly|date= 3 May 2016 |work=Radio Times }} The show has the same format as The Island with Bear Grylls, in which the participants are left on a remote uninhabited Pacific island with only limited water, some basic tools and training and are expected to find their own food, water and shelter. The celebrities however stayed on the island for a shorter period of two weeks.{{cite web |url=https://rts.org.uk/article/celebrities-take-bear-grylls-island |title=Celebrities take on Bear Grylls' Island |first= Ed |last=Gove |date=3 May 2016 |work=Royal Television Society }} A second series began airing on 29 August 2017.{{cite news |url=http://www.ok.co.uk/tv/1162075/celebrity-island-with-bear-grylls-start-date-when-who-is-in-line-up-stand-up-to-cancer-pictures |title=Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls start date confirmed as full star-studded line-up is revealed including Lucy Mecklenburgh, Ryan Thomas and Jordan Stephens |first= Natasha |last=Sporn |date= August 29, 2017 |work=OK Magazine}} The second series saw the celebrities stay on the island for a longer amount of time, four weeks.
