Celestial Completion is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Becoming the Archetype, released on March 29, 2011 through Solid State Records.{{cite web| title = Becoming the Archetype: 'Celestial Completion' Artwork Unveiled| work = Blabbermouth.net| publisher = Roadrunner Records| date = February 9, 2011| url = http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=153662| accessdate = February 9, 2011| archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20110715191755/http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=153662| archive-date = July 15, 2011| url-status = dead}}
Becoming the Archetype added some diversity and unusual elements to their sound on Celestial Completion. The album features instruments and techniques that are not common for a metal band, including: trombones, sitars, tamburas, tablas, vocoders, an intro with "operatic soprano vocals and four-part harmony," and a recording of a Mass.{{cite web| last = Sciarretto| first = Amy| title = Becoming the Archetype's 'Sound Is Stretched' on 'Celestial Completion'| work = Noisecreep| publisher = AOL Music| date = December 31, 2010| url = http://www.noisecreep.com/2010/12/31/becoming-the-archetype-elestial-completion-new-album/| accessdate = February 9, 2011}}
In April 2010, when the group was only in the early stages of writing a new album, Celestial Completion was given the working title of In a Monstrous World of Half-Human Deities, Some People Will Unfortunately Die from Old Age.{{cite web| last = Sciarretto| first = Amy| title = Becoming the Archetype Are Writing New Album| work = Noisecreep| publisher = AOL Music| date = April 9, 2010| url = http://www.noisecreep.com/2010/04/09/becoming-the-archetype-are-writing-new-album/| accessdate = February 9, 2011}}
Ryan Clark, art director for Solid State Records and vocalist for Demon Hunter, contacted Dan Seagrave to design the artwork for Celestial Completion. Seagrave had previously designed the art for Becoming the Archetype's debut album Terminate Damnation.
In its debut week, Celestial Completion sold approximately 2,100 copies and ranked at number 7 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.{{cite web| title = Becoming the Archetype: 'Celestial Completion' First-Week Sales Revealed| work = Blabbermouth.net| publisher = Roadrunner Records| date = April 6, 2011| url = http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=156403| accessdate = April 6, 2011| archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20110825233725/http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=156403| archive-date = August 25, 2011| url-status = dead}}
The title of track four, "The Path of the Beam", is a reference to Stephen King's The Dark Tower, which bassist/vocalist, Jason Wisdom, & guitarist/keyboardist/clean vocalist, Seth Hecox are both fans of.{{cite web|last=DiNitto|first=Jay|title=Becoming the Archetype Reference Stephen King|url=http://www.noisecreep.com/2011/03/25/becoming-the-archetype-reference-stephen-king-in-path-of-the-be/|work=7/20/2011}}{{cite web|last=Moore|first=Bruce|title=Interview with Becoming the Archetype guitarist, keyboardist and clean vocalist Seth "Count Seth" Hecox [Audio]|url=http://www.puregrainaudio.com/interviews/interview-with-becoming-the-archetype-guitarist-keyboardist-and-clean-vocalist-seth-count-seth-hecox-audio|publisher=Pure Grain Audio|accessdate=2011-07-20}}
This would be vocalist/bassist Jason Wisdom's and drummer Brent Duckett's last album with Becoming the Archetype until 2022, as they both parted ways with the band in November 2011.
