Cercosaura eigenmanni, known commonly as Eigenmann's prionodactylus, is a species of lizard in the family Gymnophthalmidae. The species is endemic to South America.{{NRDB species|genus=Cercosaura|species=eigenmanni|accessdate=20 July 2019}}

Discovery

C. eigenmanni was discovered in 1917 by L.E. Description

Adults of C. eigenmanni may attain a snout-to-vent length of about {{cvt|4.5|cm|in}}.

Etymology

The specific name, eigenmanni, is in honor of German-born American ichthyologist Carl H. Eigenmann.Beolens, Bo; Watkins, Michael; Grayson, Michael (2011). The Eponym Dictionaery of Reptiles. Geographic range

C. eigenmanni is found in Bolivia, Brazil (namely the states of Rondônia, Amazonas and Mato Grosso),Avila-Pires, T. C. S. (1995). Lizards of Brazilian Amazonia (Reptilia: Squamata). Zoologische Verhandelingen, 299(1), 1–706. and Peru.

Habitat

The preferred habitat of C. eigenmanni is forest at altitudes of {{convert|200|–|700|m|ft|abbr=on}}.

Reproduction

C. eigenmanni is oviparous.
