}}The Chaloem Sawan 58 Bridge{{ref label|reference_name_a|a|a}} (Thai: สะพานเฉลิมสวรรค์ ๕๘) was a bridge crossing the northern end of Khlong Khu Mueang Doem ({{langx|th|คลองคูเมืองเดิม}}){{ref label|reference_name_b|b|b}}), or old moat, in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. The bridge, built in the axis of Phra Athit Road (Thai: ถนนพระอาทิตย์), was opened on 23 October 1912 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), two years after his father's death, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V).{{cite news |title=พระราชดำรัสตอบในการเปิดสพานเฉลิมสวรรค์|newspaper=Royal Thai Government Gazette |date=10 November 1912 |url=http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/PDF/2455/D/1760.PDF |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20221015204037/http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/PDF/2455/D/1760.PDF |url-status=dead |archive-date=October 15, 2022 |page=1760|volume=29 |access-date=2022-10-15}} Last structure to be built of the Chaloem Bridges Series{{ref label|reference_name_c|c|c}}, which numbered seventeen, it "was dedicated to King Rama V by King Rama VI on his father's 58th birthday".{{Cite web|url=http://www.aj.arch.chula.ac.th/nakhara/files/article/154-350-1-PB.pdf|title=From ‘National Exhibition’ to ‘the Siamese Kingdom Exhibition’: Reflections of Siamese History in the Reigns of King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh|last=Sriudom|first=Kanthika|date=2006|website=|publisher=Chulalongkorn University|access-date=}}{{cite news |title=Court Circular |newspaper=The Bangkok Times Weekly Mail |date=24 October 1912}}
The bridge had four pillars, one at each corner, that were topped by the royal cypher of King Chulalongkorn: "จปร" which stands for "มหาจุฬาลงกรณ์ ปรมราชาธิราช"({{RTGS|Maha Chulalongkon Prom Rachathirat}} ; lit: "Chulalongkorn The Great, The Mighty King"). The name of the bridge was inscribed on two opposite sides at the square base of each pillar as well as the foundation date of the bridge on the two other sides as related to the Rattanakosin Era: "ศก ๑๓๐", meaning the 130th year of the Rattanakosin Era.
The trams of the Dusit Line (Thai: สายดุสิต){{ref label|reference_name_d|d|d}} used to cross the bridge linking the Phra Athit Road (Thai: ถนนพระอาทิตย์) with the Rachini Alley (Thai: ถนนราชินี) until 23 December 1963 when the line was cut between the Bangkok National Museum and Baan Maliwan (now the offices of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization).{{Cite book|title=Bangkok Tramways - Eighty Years 1888-1968|last=Dick van der Spek, Wisarut Bholsithi and Wally Higgins|first=|publisher=White Lotus Press|year=2015|isbn=978-974-8495-37-8|location=Bangkok, Thailand|pages=77|quote=|via=}}
It was dismantled in 1971 when the Phra Pinklao bridge was built at that spot.{{Cite book|title=Old Bridges of Bangkok|last=Narumit|first=Sirichai|publisher=The Siam Society|year=1977|isbn=|location=Bangkok, Thailand|pages=68–69|quote=|via=}}{{cite news |title=Bridge closed 2 years |newspaper=Bangkok Post |date=17 July 1971}} At that time, the [https://asa.or.th/en/ Association of Siamese Architects] (ASA) and the [https://www.facebook.com/sconte1971/ Society for the Conservation Of National Treasure and Environment] (SCONTE) called for the conservation of the structure to the Bangkok Municipality who "agreed to re-erect the bridge at an appropriate place".
