Life and career
Phythian-Adams was born on 28 July 1937.Burke's Landed Gentry, 18th edition, vol. 2, ed. He was educated at Marlborough College and Hertford College, Oxford, where he took an M.A.Teachers of History in the Universities and Polytechnics of the United Kingdom, Joyce M.
