Reception
Scott D. Pierce of Deseret News wrote, "Chasing Farrah is worth watching for at least one reason — it gives viewers a clue how celebrities can be so out of touch with reality. We get a glimpse of fans and flunkies fawning all over Fawcett, telling her how great she is all the time."{{cite news |last=Pierce |first=Scott D. |date=2005-03-22 |title='Chasing Farrah' is one very weird experience |url=https://www.deseret.com/2005/3/22/19883151/chasing-farrah-is-one-very-weird-experience/ |newspaper=Deseret News |accessdate=2024-03-23 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20240323091621/https://www.deseret.com/2005/3/22/19883151/chasing-farrah-is-one-very-weird-experience/ |archivedate=2024-03-23 }}
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram television critic Robert Philpot gave the show a grade of C, stating, "Fawcett is likable enough, but she's unusually tame for this sort of fare. In this genre, you need something outrageous to be worthy of sticking around."{{cite news |last=Philpot |first=Robert |date=2005-03-20 |title='Chasing Farrah' a ho-hum trip to nowhere |url=https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/109010EAAC513460&f=basic |newspaper=Fort Worth Star-Telegram |accessdate=2024-03-23 |archiveurl=https://archive.today/20240323091533/https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/109010EAAC513460&f=basic |archivedate=2024-03-23 }}
The Star-Ledger{{'}}s Matt Zoller Seitz said, "Rather than ignore the manipulations of so-called reality programming, Chasing Farrah folds them into the show. That's not enough to cancel out the familiarity of the show's concept, but it's intriguing all the same."{{cite news |last=Seitz |first=Matt Zoller |date=2005-03-22 |title=Welcome intrusion |url=https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/10901C53C4AC5813&f=basic |newspaper=The Star-Ledger |accessdate=2024-03-23 |archiveurl=https://archive.today/20240323091539/https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/10901C53C4AC5813&f=basic |archivedate=2024-03-23 }} Steve Murray of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution gave the show a D, stating, "The producers even make a point about the aptness of the title: Even they don't seem to know why they're chasing Farrah, or, for that matter, who Farrah really is. The giggly, blonde-maned icon doesn't help them out much. It's like there's no there there worth chasing."{{cite news |last=Murray |first=Steve |date=2005-03-23 |title=There's really not much point in 'Chasing Farrah' |url=https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/10904AB3445E729B&f=basic |newspaper=The Atlanta Journal-Constitution |accessdate=2024-03-23 |archiveurl=https://archive.today/20240323091719/https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/10904AB3445E729B&f=basic |archivedate=2024-03-23 }}
