Career

Chen was a child actress during her schooling years. Initially she had no intentions of entering the entertainment industry and worked as a host for small-scale product launches and promotional events to earn extra money as a university student. A television director who was at such an event persuaded her to try hosting a television program. She was chosen to host the children's program Dragon Club (小神龙俱乐部) as she was fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. After receiving a positive response from viewers, she hosted the SMG's flagship entertainment and lifestyle program Entertainment Online (娱乐在线).{{cite news|title=陈辰——背着书包做主持|url=http://www.cntv.cn/lm/736/61/65358.html|publisher=China Central Television|language=zh}}

As she is bilingual, Chen has hosted and served as a translator at international events and conferences held in Shanghai, most notably the annual Shanghai International Film Festival.{{cite news|title=陈辰产后复出主持上海国际电影节 双语主持功底过硬被赞|url=http://ent.china.com.cn/xwtt/detail2_2021_06/21/2865698.html|publisher=china.com.cn|date=June 21, 2021|language=zh}}{{cite news|title=陈辰:学英语 我用半生自律换我一生从容|url=http://ent.chinadaily.com.cn/2017-08/01/content_30319528.htm|work=China Daily|date=August 1, 2017|language=zh}} She co-hosted the 2015 Laureus World Sports Awards, which was held in Shanghai, together with actor Benedict Cumberbatch.{{cite news|title=SISU Alumna Chen Chen hosts Laureus World Sports Awards with Benedict Cumberbatch|url=http://mba.shisu.edu.cn/en/c0/83/c7998a114819/page.psp|publisher=Shanghai International Studies University}} The event drew much attention in China as Chen was the first Chinese national to host the awards and do it entirely in English without a translator.{{cite news|title=陈辰成"劳伦斯"首个中国主持 卷福现身打乒乓|url=http://covid-19.chinadaily.com.cn/micro-reading/ent/2015-04-16/content_13550728.html|work=China Daily|date=April 16, 2015|language=zh}}

Chen began shifting away from hosting television programs to producing in 2012. She was the producer and presenter of the critically-acclaimed program Heroes (闪亮的名字), which features the stories of ordinary citizens during significant periods of China's history, a departure from large-scale anniversary documentaries which typically glorified party or military achievements. The first season was nominated for Best Variety Program awards at the 2019 Shanghai Television Festival Magnolia Awards. Due to a positive reception from viewers, a second season was commissioned and it won the Best Literary/Cultural Program award at the biennial China Television Arts Starlight Awards.{{cite news|title=陈辰凭《闪亮的名字》获星光奖 产后首露面状态惊艳|url=http://ex.chinadaily.com.cn/exchange/partners/82/rss/channel/cn/columns/ma7abu/stories/WS5f73036ba3101e7ce97277b9.html|work=China Daily|date=September 29, 2020|language=zh}}{{cite news|title=《闪亮的名字》亮相上视节 第二季即将"献礼"回归|url=https://wap.xinmin.cn/content/31542392.html|work=Xinmin Evening News|date=June 11, 2019|language=zh}}

In January 2019, she appeared in the audience of the singing competition Super-Vocal season 1, and it was revealed that she was married to participant Yu Di, a singer-songwriter and vocal instructor at Shanghai Theatre Academy.
