The area shown in the adjoining map is the physiographic sub-region known as the diara. It "is a relatively well drained flat land formed by the fluvial deposition of newer alluvium." According to the 2011 Census of India, Chhota Suzapur had a total population of 11,216, of which 5,808 (52%) were males and 5,408 (48%) were females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 1,757. According to the District Census Handbook, Maldah, 2011, Chhota Suzapur covered an area of 0.9052 km². It had 10 km roads with both open and closed drains. The protected water-supply involved river infiltration gallery, tap water from treated sources, tube well/ bore well. It had 904 domestic electric connections. Among the medical facilities it had 4 dispensaries/ health centres, 6 medicine shops. Among the educational facilities, it had 8 primary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 secondary schools, 3 senior secondary schools, the nearest general degree college at Malda 10 km away. It produced resham silk, mango, potato.
