The area shown in the adjoining map is the physiographic sub-region known as the diara. It "is a relatively well drained flat land formed by the fluvial deposition of newer alluvium." Demographics

According to the 2011 Census of India, Chhota Suzapur had a total population of 11,216, of which 5,808 (52%) were males and 5,408 (48%) were females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 1,757. According to the District Census Handbook, Maldah, 2011, Chhota Suzapur covered an area of 0.9052 km2. It had 10 km roads with both open and closed drains. The protected water-supply involved river infiltration gallery, tap water from treated sources, tube well/ bore well. It had 904 domestic electric connections. Among the medical facilities it had 4 dispensaries/ health centres, 6 medicine shops. Among the educational facilities, it had 8 primary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 secondary schools, 3 senior secondary schools, the nearest general degree college at Malda 10 km away. It produced resham silk, mango, potato.
