The party unsuccessfully ran 2 upper house candidates at the 2018 state election with around 1.5% of the statewide vote.{{Cite web |url=https://results.ecsa.sa.gov.au/lc |title=2018 Legislative Council results: ECSA |access-date=20 March 2018 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180324173112/https://results.ecsa.sa.gov.au/lc |archive-date=24 March 2018 |url-status=dead }}
At the 2019 federal election, the party unsuccessfully contested one electorate.[https://results.aec.gov.au/24310/Website/HouseDivisionPage-24310-190.htm 2019 House of Representative results for the division of Sturt: AEC] It was deregistered by the AEC on 30 June 2021.{{cite web |title=Notice of deregistration Child Protection Party |url=https://www.aec.gov.au/Parties_and_Representatives/Party_Registration/Deregistered_parties/files/web-notice-to-deregister-child-protection-party.pdf}} Since child protection is a state and not a federal responsibility, the Party did not challenge deregistration.
At the 2022 Victorian state election, the party endorsed independent candidate Eric Koelmeyer in the seat of Bundoora, as it is not registered with the Victorian Electoral Commission. Koelmeyer was unsuccessful.{{cite web |title=If you live in Victoria and you intend supporting Eric Koelmeyer in Bundoora, this is how he would like you to vote |url=https://www.instagram.com/p/ClYZxWcyLcs/ |website=Instagram |publisher=Child Protection Party}}
