The Chona ({{langx|ru|Чона}}; {{langx|sah|Чуона}}, Çuona) is a river in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. It is a right hand tributary of the Vilyuy, and is {{convert|802|km|mi}} long, with a drainage basin of {{convert|40600|km2|mi2}}.[http://textual.ru/gvr/index.php?card=251271 Russian State Water Register - Chona]

Course
The river begins in the Lena Plateau, part of the Central Siberian Plateau, at an elevation of {{convert|317|m|ft}}. It flows roughly northeastwards forming rapids which make the river not navigable. The lowest {{convert|170|km|abbr=on}} of its course were flooded by the Vilyuy Reservoir after the Vilyuy Dam was built in 1967. The main tributaries of the Chona are the {{convert|362|km|mi}} long Vakunayka and the {{convert|105|km|mi}} long Ichoda on the right, and the {{convert|158|km|mi}} long Dekinde, the {{convert|122|km|mi}} long Delinde and the {{convert|109|km|mi}} long Markhaya on the left.
