The Cime de Capoves (French) or Cima Capoves (Italian{{Cite book | page = 272 | title = Alpi Marittime | publisher = Club Alpino Italiano - Sezione di Torino | url = https://books.google.com/books?id=UY5oC5P-Ha0C&q=Cima+capoves | year = 1908 | access-date=2017-11-26 }}) is a mountain of the Ligurian Alps located in the French region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, close to the French-Italian border.

History

The Cime the Capoves up to World War II belonged to Italy but, following the Paris Peace Treaties, signed in February 1947, is now in France{{Cite book | year = 1948 | first = Jandi | last = Sapi | url = https://books.google.com/books?id=3BaY4-pZdLYC&q=Cima+perteg%C3%A0 | title = Il trattato di pace con l'Italia | page = 167 | publisher = Council of Foreign Ministers | access-date= 2017-11-26 }} because the France–Italy border runs between Colle dei Signori and Colle di Capeves east of the mountain.

Geography

The mountain belongs to the Ligurian Alps and is located on the main chain of the Alps. Going South a saddle at 2.007 m,Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière, official 1:25.000 map on [https://www.geoportail.gouv.fr/carte www.geoportail.gouv.fr] sometimes named Colle di Capoves,{{Cite web | title = Anello della Cresta del Ferà da Carnino Superiore | author = CompagniadellAnello | date = 29 May 2017 | url = http://www.lafiocavenmola.it/modules/news/article.php?storyid=9102&com_id=8072&com_rootid=8072& | access-date= 6 November 2017 }} divides it from the Cima di Pertegà, while going North the Cime de Capoves is divided from the Cima Gaina by the Colle dei Signori. On the eastern side of the mountain runs a former-military dirt road connecting Monesi (a village of the municipality of Triora) with the colle di Tenda. The summit is marked by a stone cairn and administratively belongs to an exclave of the Frenc municipality of La Brigue.
