CinnaGen is an Iran based biotechnology company that was founded in 1994 by Hamid Mobtaker.{{Specify|date=March 2024}} As of 2016, it manufactured biosimilar drugs, laboratory diagnostic reagents for in vitro use, and recombinant proteins, and exported to other countries in the Middle East and to countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States.{{cite book|title=Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Review: Iran|date=2016|publisher=United Nations Conference on Trade and Development|url=http://unctad.org/en/PublicationsLibrary/dtlstict20163_en.pdf}}{{rp|70}}

In a new cooperation agreement, Phases 2 and 3 clinical trials of the Vaxine’s monovalent recombinant COVID-19 vaccine will be initiated in Iran in the coming weeks.
